Writings about Music

My Heroes

If we ever forget what music is about, The Isley Brothers remind us. I love this music so much, including how they embrace a song by someone with different ethnic origins, showing how we are truly all One here in America, and in the world. Let's always remember that especially when there are misguided attempts to lead us astray.

Hello It's Me is a song composed by Todd Rundgren, here interpreted by The Isley Brothers on Soul Train.

Here Ernie and Ron Isley relate the mesmeric story of how Jimi Hendrix joined their band, and how they all watched the Beatles debut on the Ed Sullivan Show.

And here you may witness with stunning intimacy and clarity Jimi Hendrix in all his glory performing on the Olinda foothills of the House of the Sun, Haleakala, in Maui.
