Showed Lee Konitz a 1927 coin ring, how I thought of him when I wore it, this being his birth year. There's a Native American on the coin, too, Cherokee being a favorite of Lee.

Above, my photo of Lee and his wife, Gundula, taken that day, 13 October 2019, Lee's birthday. Saying goodbye, the last thing Gundula said was, "Take care of that ring!"

Another favorite memory is the day Lee and I went swimming in the Hollywood mountains where he did the backstroke backwards and spoke French.
