A Bird Outside

A bird outside my window just began singing roughly the first three notes of the most famous Charlie Parker blues recording, Parker's Mood, followed by a trill, over and over. The pitches aren't in our tuning, but are close enough in effect and melodic and rhythmic sequence for me to make the obvious connection. But there are much fewer birds around, and hardly any insects at all. Really sad, a blues for the earth. He or she left while I was writing this. Now he or she is singing a different song in the distance.
